Addendum: domain names and hosting — kex.dk
1. Purpose and precedence
This addendum applies to domain names and hosting services bought through kex.dk and supplements the terms for business customers and consumers. In case of conflict the addendum prevails. The services are delivered through our wholesale supplier and the relevant domain registries (see the list of sub-processors and recipients).
2. You are the registrant
You are the registrant (holder) of the domain names you order, and we arrange registration and administration. You must give correct and complete registrant information and keep it up to date; incorrect information may lead the registry to suspend or delete the domain.
3. .dk domains
For .dk domains you enter into an agreement directly with Punktum dk A/S under Punktum dk's current terms and conditions for the right of use to a .dk domain name, which you accept when ordering. Punktum dk or we may check your identity, typically with MitID; if you do not answer a request for verification within the deadline Punktum dk sets, the domain may be closed. Punktum dk publishes registrant information under its own rules. Disputes about .dk domains can be brought before the Complaints Board for Domain Names (Klagenævnet for Domænenavne).
4. Other domains
For other domains, e.g. .com and .eu, the registry's rules apply and, for generic domains, ICANN's rules, including ICANN's registrant rights and responsibilities and the dispute resolution rules (UDRP). Registrant information is sent to the registry and the responsible registrar, which may publish it under their rules. Certain domains require a particular connection to a country (e.g. .us), and if you do not meet the requirement, the domain may be deleted without a refund.
5. Renewal, expiry and transfer
Domains and hosting services renew automatically for a new period when payment is made, and we notify you before renewal. If the renewal is not paid, the domain may expire and be deleted, after which others may register it. We are not liable for the loss of a domain caused by non-payment, incorrect registrant information, failure to respond to identity verification or decisions of a registry.
You may transfer a domain to another provider. The authorisation code is released when payment for the current registration period has been made. For security it is released only to the account owner after confirmation with a code from an authenticator app and a confirmation sent to the registrant's email address, and after a security period of normally 24 hours and at most 48 hours during which the transfer can be stopped. The code is shown in the customer area, never sent by email, and deleted after 7 days. Registries may block transfers for a period after registration, transfer or change of registrant.
If a domain was bought at a campaign price and is transferred to another provider within the first year, we may charge the difference between the campaign price and the regular price, as stated at purchase.
6. Hosting and email
In addition to the acceptable use rules in the terms, hosting and email may not be used for bulk email without consent, open relays or proxies, phishing, malware, crypto mining or anything else that burdens the servers or harms others' reputation. We may suspend a website or mailbox that is compromised or sends spam until the problem is fixed.
You are responsible for the content of your websites and mailboxes and for updating the software you install yourself. We take backups as described for the service, but you should keep your own copies of important data. Resource limits for each service are on the price page.
7. Third-party products
For products from other manufacturers, e.g. Microsoft 365, the manufacturer's end-user terms, which you accept when ordering, apply in addition to these terms.
8. Right of withdrawal for domains
If you are a consumer and request that a domain be registered immediately, the registration is fully performed once the domain is registered, and the right of withdrawal for the registration then lapses. For hosting and email subscriptions the right of withdrawal applies under the terms for consumers.
